Hello! We are Jessica and Laurel Temmel- two of three sisters born and raised on Saltspring Island. Growing up on a small and beautiful island as members of an utterly unique community, we developed an appreciation for the finer things in life: funky jewelry, hiking through the forest, biking up and down mountains, potluck dinners at the beach, thrift store shopping, dark chocolate, garden gnomes and nature t-shirts.
With passion for environmental and social justice issues and love for all things artful, kitschy and crafty, Sister Sister Buttons is a collaborative enterprise. Together we dream up, scheme up, draw, paint and design buttons, magnets, mirrors and cards.
Not only is Sister Sister Buttons a means to support our gourmet dinner parties, our fancy post-secondary education aspirations and traveling addictions, but also (we hope!) a way to express positive messages that border on political, include the ridiculous and bring about some chuckles.
